Umbra
greatest.gamesA free daily light-and-shadow logic puzzle. Divide the whole grid into fields of light and shadow: each field contains exactly one numbered given equal to its size, and two fields of the same shade can never share an edge. How to play Umbra
Umbra is a free daily logic puzzle. Divide the whole grid into fields of light and shadow. Every field holds one number equal to its size, and no two fields of the same shade may share an edge. A new puzzle is published every day at midnight US Eastern, and it.
- Some cells are already coloured and carry a number. Those are givens: you can never change them.
- A field is a run of touching cells of one colour. Each field holds exactly one given, and that given’s number is how many cells the field covers.
- Two fields of the same colour may never share an edge. Meeting at a corner is fine.
- A given marked ? works the same way, but its size is not written down — you work it out from everything around it. No field is ever larger than six cells.
- Tap an empty cell to cycle it light → shadow → empty, or drag to paint a run in one pass. A number fades once its field is the right size.
