How to play Eatlas
The numbers come from the UN's FAO, the World Health Organization and industry tables; each puzzle names its source at the bottom of the page. Countries under 1 million people and trade hubs are left out.
- Every day there is one food. Find the country where people eat (or drink) the most of it, per person.
- Guess any country. It lights up on the globe: cold blue if it is far down the list, burning red if it is close to the top.
- Keep going until you hit #1. Guesses are unlimited. Fewer guesses is better.
- Some days are region rounds. The question names a region, like Europe or Africa. Only countries there count, and the rest of the globe is faded.
