How to play Comparle
One word from another language every day, the same word for everyone. You do not guess letters; you work out where the word comes from and what it means.
- Round 1 is always the language; rounds 2 to 4 ask about the word: its feeling or literal sense, where you would hear it, what it means.
- Sure? Tap an answer. Torn? Put your dot between two. A hedge scores less than a hit and more than a wrong pole.
- Up to 125 points a round.
- A hit doubles it, a small typo is fine. Close gives x1.5. A miss halves it. Or keep what you have.
- Buy back the rounds' answers: first free, then 25, 50 and 75 points.
